The 5 most important “NOs”

  1. NO improper waste disposal. Waste must be separated correctly (see “How to separate the waste”) and taken out daily.

  5. NO PETS.

The 3 main general rules

  1. No fire in the apartment:
  • No incense or lighters. Candles are allowed only on special occasions and must always be supervised.
  1. Respect the apartment (treat it as your own home):
  • Furniture: do not place hot items directly on tables, avoid scratches, and use cutting boards.
  • Washing machine / dishwasher: use correct settings (30–40°C, max 800 rpm), liquid detergent only (“detersivo per lavatrice”), softener is “ammorbidente”. Do not use bleach. Never fully close the washing machine door after use. Dishwasher: liquid detergent only.
  • Kitchen utensils: use wooden or plastic utensils, not steel, on pans.
  • Appliances: use all electrical devices with care.
  • Neighbours: no noise, especially from 9 pm to 9 am. No parties. Please greet neighbours and the doorman.
  • Energy saving: save energy. Turn off lights and AC when leaving. Max heating temperature in winter is 19°C. Air the apartment daily for at least 20 minutes.
  1. No changes to the apartment:
  • Do not move furniture or attach anything to walls (no nails, tape, etc.).

3 other important rules

  1. Bathroom / kitchen
Open the window after showers for at least 30 minutes, or use the exhaust fan if there is no window. Remove hair from drains. Do not throw oil, food, or objects into sinks or WC.
  2. Cleaning service
Before the cleaner arrives, store clothes and personal items and leave no dirty dishes in the sink.
  3. House keys
Lost keys may require changing the lock (€120–320) plus new copies. Damaged keys may cost €20–80.

No electricity
If too many appliances are used at the same time, the power may shut down. Switch off or unplug some devices and reset the main switch (shown at check-in).

Use only one of these at a time: induction hob, oven, kettle, microwave, hair dryer.
It is usually possible to use two of these together: washing machine, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, iron.

No internet
Wi-Fi name and password are on the modem/router. If not working, unplug it for 60 seconds and wait.
Temporary solution: use your phone as a hotspot.
Still not working > WhatsApp Carla.

No heating / hot water
Check boiler pressure (BAR between 1 and 2). If low, open the valve under the boiler and close it again at about 1.2 BAR. This will be shown at check-in.

Other technical problems > WhatsApp Carla with photos/videos.
